Looking to the future

Foundry is synonymous with sustainability and circular economy, especially when it comes to aluminium.

In the last 20 years, foundry development policies have increasingly focused on sustainability and environmental issues. This has allowed for great results in terms of reducing environmental impact, Carbon Footprint, reducing waste production and recovering and reintroducing materials into the production cycle.

Thanks to incentives, regulations, and corporate investments, in recent years it has been possible to reduce over 70% of non-recyclable waste and decrease by 65% the dust emitted into the environment. A virtuous system that sees foundries playing a leading role in reducing, reusing and recycling the materials involved in production processes.

Sustainable development means protecting the environment and implementing measures for correct use of resources during every production cycle

Sustainable aluminium

Among the different metal materials, aluminium is certainly the best representative of the circular economy. It is recognized and classified as a "permanent material", meaning a material with unlimited availability that does not consume and can be used and reused endlessly, preserving all its characteristics and qualities without any variations.
In addition, thanks to its low weight and lower melting point compared to ferrous metals, it requires less energy in the transformation processes

Sustainability and Corporate Safety

Sustainability also means well-being and safety for workers.

The foundry sector, which has always been weak in terms of prevention, has carried out a great task in the last 15 years aimed at improving working conditions, reducing the incidence of accidents by over 40% per thousand operators.

At Fonderia Persicetana, we have also adopted sustainable business practices, both to reduce environmental impact and to increase safety within our workplaces.

Our goal is to achieve zero workplace accidents, and to do this, we have implemented training for operators and increased monitoring of unsafe behaviors and Near Misses

Our sustainable approach

In the last 5 years, we have implemented technical solutions and technologies to achieve our sustainability and business safety goals:
We have adapted our sand treatment facilities to minimize waste of inert materials: today we can recycle 95% of the sands with minimal use of virgin sand, thus reducing disposal needs.
We have equipped our plants with state-of-the-art suction systems, with the aim of keeping the air circulation always active and reducing dust emissions, in respect of the environment and the workers.
Our melting plants are modern, technologically advanced and remotely controlled: this way we can avoid unnecessary waste during the melting process and have everything under control at all times.
We have replaced the roofs of older facilities and installed photovoltaic systems to achieve a peak production of 90 kW and save about 70 tons of CO2 emissions per year in the environment.
